Consultation
- ($210 for pensioners)
- This does not include any scans or treatment that may be required
- Medicare rebate on consultation fee with a current referral from your Optometrist or GP
- Private health insurance does not contribute to consultations
Standard cataract eye surgery costs
- Direct-billed to your health fund (provided there is top hospital cover with inclusion for cataract surgery – please check with your health fund)
- This includes follow-up for 6 weeks

Lifestyle cataract surgery pricing

Laser cataract surgery pricing
- Out of pocket $1200 to $1700 depending on fund
- This excludes anaesthetist’s fee
- This includes all follow-up for 6 months

In-room glaucoma treatments pricing
- Cost starts from $650 for SLT ($550 for pensioners)
- Yag PI is $560 ($460 for pensioners)
- Follow-up appointments are charged
- Treatment plans are individualised to meet patients needs
- Private health insurance does not contribute to in-room treatments
Notes: Medicare rebate is $395.40 for SLT & $309.75 for Yag PI
Keratoconus treatment pricing
- Cost starts from $2000 per eye
- This includes follow-up for 4 weeks
Notes: Medicare rebate is $1136 per eye.
Age-related macular degeneration treatment pricing
- Cost starts from $45 (for the pre-injection scan)
- This includes follow-up for 5 days
- This is pending your health fund coverage (given that AHSA funds no longer cover theatre injections)

Dry eye treatment pricing
- Cost starts from $150 for a single treatment
- $500 for a course of four treatments
