How do patients feel after corneal infections and corneal ulcers treatment?

In this post, Dr Judy Ku discusses how you will feel once she’s relieved you of the irritation and sensitivity, and restored your normal vision after the corneal infection and ulcer treatment.

How do you feel after treatment?

In the acute phase, often when the eye’s very red, raw and inflamed, the prescribed eyedrops can sting quite a bit when they go in. During the journey of recovery you’ll find that they’re less irritated, less sensitive to light, less painful, and hopefully your vision returns to normal. For some patients it often depends on the location of the ulcer.

If the ulcer is in the periphery or on the outside of the cornea, they’re less likely to affect your vision the long-term. However, if you do have an infection right in the centre of your cornea, often it can leave a scar. The size of which depends on the size of the infection. And that may have long-term consequences.

We’d like to invite you to book a consultation with us.

It’s the only way that we can really assess the health of your eye and understand your condition and what we may need to do to get your eye health back to where it should be.

We look forward to meeting you so we can talk in person and discuss your condition in detail and get your eye health back on track.
